Almost ALL Job Seekers Want This
New job seeker survey just dropped! What is it that the majority of them say they want? Higher pay? Unlimited PTO? Casual Fridays and pizza parties?
Nope!
96% of job seekers surveyed by Express Employment Professionals emphasized the importance of being able to be honest with their managers.
Also, they probably do want higher pay and more PTO, but that’s not the point.
The purpose of the survey was to gain insight on what makes job seekers and new employees loyal to a company, and open communication claimed the top spot.
A significant majority of job seekers (82%) expressed they would be more loyal to a company if they felt they could be candid with their manager.
Here are some more interesting findings from the survey:
69% of job seekers agree that employees should feel comfortable discussing personal issues with their manager if it impacts their day-to-day work.
87% believe that employees being honest with their managers is crucial for a productive workforce.
Hiring managers are on the same page - more than half believe employee morale increases (58%), productivity increases (53%) and employees are loyal to the company (51%) when employees can speak honestly at work.
9 in 10 hiring managers say employees who feel like they can be honest with their leader are more loyal to their employer (90%) and is a critical part of having a productive workforce (89%).

Reduce Smartphone Usage = Improved Worker Satisfaction?
Ruhr University’s psychology department just released an interesting study about the relationship between employees and their phones. They concluded “people who reduce their screen time on by merely one hour a day improve both their well-being and their motivation at work.”
The study examined the work and smartphone habits of 278 employees. On average, people spend about 3 hours and 15 minutes looking at their phones every day.
For their study, the researchers assigned the participants, who all came from different professional sectors to 4 groups of roughly equal size. The smartphone group reduced their private smartphone use by one hour a day for one week. The sport group increased their daily physical activity by 30 minutes. The combination group did both, and the control group didn’t change their routine at all.
In the smartphone group and the combination group, the researchers found that work satisfaction and motivation, work-life balance, and mental health had improved significantly.
Researchers believe that these findings could lead to companies implementing incentives to reduce screen time, as they also stand to gain from the alleged benefits.

FREE AI Training
Last week, Salesforce announced a $50 million investment in training people for the jobs of tomorrow.
The company will open a pop-up AI center at its HQ and plans to roll out AI training spaces in all its offices around the world.
Employees will be able to enroll in and complete free AI training and certifications through the company’s online learning platform, Trailhead. The courses and certifications will be available to all employees through the end of 2025.
“The advent of AI and agents represents the biggest technological shift of our generation and will radically change how people work. “We need to ensure everyone is equipped with the skills they need to succeed in this new AI world.”
Salesforce also plans to upskill all 72,000 employees by implementing quarterly AI learning days, which will give workers hands-on time with the latest AI innovations.
At the San Fransisco headquarters, a whole floor is being transformed to “create immersive learning experiences for employees around the world.”
Roughly 40% of the 2.6 million AI and data badges earned on Trailhead were from Salesforce employees.
Great example of a company willing to invest in the future of its employees. Check out the 140+ open jobs at Salesforce in the USA!
