CNN, Stripe Set to Reduce Headcount

New year, new job cuts.

The news giant, CNN just announced that it will be cutting roughly 6% of its global workforce, totaling 200 employees. The affected employees are in “television-focused” roles as CNN aims to shift priorities to various other platforms.

In the tech world, payment processing giant, Stripe announced that 300 employees will be let go. Those affected work in product, engineering, and operations.

Despite the planned layoffs, Stripe is planning on growing the employee base to over 10,000 employees by 2026.

Starbucks (under new CEO Brian Nicoll) is also planning layoffs in March.
